OK so it's January but I loved this poem so here it is, just pretend it's called plain old 'Rain Song' and enjoy! Happy New Year & here's to plenty of adventures in the rain in 2012.
(April) Rain Song
Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.

ReplyDeleteooh now that is hot! 23 is hot enough for me :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this sweet poem, Kierna. I think I've read more of this person's poetry, and am going to look him up on Google, to see if he's who I'm thinking.
ReplyDeleteAre you having rain there now?
Happy New Years, Kierna!

Have had nothing but rain over the last 2 weeks but today is actually dry & frosty! He's a very interesting poet :)
ReplyDeleteKierna- read this earlier and meant to comment! You guys always look like you are having such fun! (despite...or because of all the rain!)
ReplyDeleteCheers Pam - yeah sometimes I can't believe I get paid to do this job!!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see kids playing in the rain rather than hiding away inside.
ReplyDeleteand I love the motto for your nursery even more.
Hi Tricia, thanks so much for you kind comments.
DeleteI also love the sound of the rain when it starts to pour on the roof of our house. It's like music made by nature. I also love seeing kids playing in the rain, just like in these photos here. Their playfulness and zest for life remind me of when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteHi Gabrielle, thanks for dropping by the blog & taking the time to comment, I agree that heavy rain can be very musical. I love being inside & hearing it beat on the windows too.
